I booked 2 nights at Lake Manawa State Park after a couple of 450 mile days to rest. I took some time on my open day to cross over the Missouri River into Omaha Nebraska. I stopped for a photo at Charles Schwab Field, home of the College Baseball World Series. I also stopped by the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge which is a 3000-foot long walkway stretching across the Missouri River from Omaha Nebraska to Council Bluffs Iowa. There are walking trails there and it is Dog Friendly which Barron loved. The Lake Manawa State Park campground turned out to be one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever seen. Very large concrete pull through sites with brand new iron picnic tables and a fire pit. This is a state park so the "resort" amenities are not there but sometime nature outshines pickleball. You Know? If you're into water sports, the lake itself is very nice and right next to the campground. This is a secure campground with a gate code that will be emailed to you prior to check-in. I paid $41 per night which was reasonable for this fantastic campground. Website

Devils Tower National Monument was established by President Theodore Roosevelt and was the nations first national monument. Devils Tower Stands 867 feet above the trees and is considered sacred by Northern Plains Indians. I spent two nights at the no hookups Belle Fourche Campground inside the park. This is not an issue with my setup but if you need power and water, there is a KOA just feet from the park entrance gate. Belle Fourche was a pleasant surprise with wide open spaces, loaded with trees, and walking trails. The staff and fellow campers were all very nice and best of all, it's only $10 per night. I stayed in loop A site 11. There is a bathhouse here which I did not use. The campground is at the foot of the tower and the visitors center with access to the tower is just a 2 mile drive away. Devils Tower & Belle Fourche Campground is a great way to spend a couple of days. Website

I spent 4 nights in Sheridan and found it to be a great place to relax and regroup. Sheridan is small, around 19,000 residence, but has all of the amenities and supplies one needs for a long RV trip. Located at the base of the Bighorn Mountains, Sheridan offers a mix of Old West history and outdoor adventures. I'm here in the third week of September and the weather is great, mid 40s overnight with daytime highs around 80. Main Street is a walkable classic downtown strip with shops, restaurants, galleries, and classic cowboy hangouts like Mint Bar and the iconic Cowboy Cafe just across the street. The Sheridan Railroad Historic District is worth a walk around and includes The Sheridan Inn built in 1893. As I was heading to breakfast one morning, a hot air balloon landed on the sidewalk not far from my truck, presumably by mistake or in distress considering all the wide open prairie land that could have been used for landing. All in all, I really like Sheridan and would certainly like to return some day. Website

I spent 4 nights at Peter D's RV Park in Sheridan Wyoming to relax a little after my first 1,800 miles. The park is really well designed with all sites being pull-through. Peter and his wife are very nice and Peter took every opportunity to play with Barron. There is a Laundry Room and Bath House facilities which I did not use. We did use the large off-leash Dog Park on-site every day. The park is very convenient to the center of town with many specialty restaurants close by and all the usual fast food joints on the main drag. The Walmart Super Center is massive and only 2.6 miles from Peter D's RV Park. At $50 per night this was a great place to land for 4 night and I will surly stay here again! Website

I booked an overnight stay at Campground at Willow Springs on my way northwest from central Alabama. This is a no frills campground with pull through sites at a very affordable $35 per night. This campground is an easy on and off to the highway and I was able to pull in and stay the night without unhooking from the truck. Great Value!
I booked an overnight stay at Oasis Campground to breakup the trip from Omaha to Devils Tower Wyoming. Oacoma is really a twin city with Chamberlain SD which is the home of the Lewis and Clark museum and the Dignity of Earth and Sky statue which I visited last year. I was in rain throughout my drive across South Dakota this year and the Oasis Campground was a muddy mess. The lady who checked me in was very nice but this campground is far too average for a $70 per night pricetag. Just my opinion.
