Gunfight at the O. K. Corral
Tombstone, Arizona

I visited Tombstone 2 years ago and wrote a small bit in Travel Blog 10. On this trip to Tombstone I specifically went to see the O. K. Corral gunfight reenactment. Pitting the "Lawmen" Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp, & Doc Holliday against the Cowboys Billy Clanton, Ike Clanton, Frank McLaury, & Tom McLaury, there's little doubt this is the most famous gunfight in Old West history. The McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton were killed in the gunfight while Virgil and Morgan Earp were both wounded. The reenactment does briefly cover the short term feud that led to the gunfight without getting into the longer term issues including stagecoach robberies, cattle rustling, and Wyatt Earp loss of the sheriff position to Clantons and McLaury friend Johnny Behan. The actors do use real period guns with real blanks and fold comedy into the show. The show has it's own set with bleachers and is located just feet away from the actual gunfight location. The real site has manikins of were each participant was standing when the gunfight began. Admission is $10 per person and includes access to the O. K. Corral museum, the Epitaph museum, and a copy of the Epitaph that covered the details of the gunfight. Well worth it in my opinion.

Voyager RV Resort & Hotel
My Favorite RV Resort So Far

Tecson, AZ

I spent 14 nights at Voyager RV Resort & Hotel in Tucson, AZ as part of my Thousand Trails membership at no additional cost. As I arrived and setup, I knew this place was different and with the past 2 month marathon I decided not to blog Tucson and enjoy the resort. This is the nicest RV resort I've ever booked considering amenities, the incredible well manicured grounds, and the efficiency of the staff. The resort has 667 RV sites surrounding the main resort hub and over 1000 park models surrounding the RV areas. I booked a premium pull through site that must be 90 feet long. Amazing! There are sixteen pickle-ball courts, 3 Tennis Courts, indoor and outdoor Swimming Pools, Billiards Room, Fitness Center, Health Clinic, Spa Services, 9-Hole Golf Course with Pro Shop, Fat Willy's Clubhouse Bar & Grill, Market and Gift Shop, 2 Laundromats, Card Rooms, Boccie Courts, Shuffleboard Courts, and much much more. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The Resort is in a great location about 15 miles southeast of the Tucson city center and the closest Walmart is about 7.5 miles away. If you like the Resort RV living, I can't think of a nicer place. Highly Recommended!

Mountain View RV Park
Huachuca City, AZ

I chose Mountain View RV Park for my week out of the Thousand Trails system mainly because it's only 8 miles from Sierra Vista. I visited the area 2 years ago and really liked Sierra Vista. The RV park has everything you need without the resort amenities and the resort prices. Mountain View has NO park models but there are quite a few monthly renters here including soldiers working at Fort Huachuca. There is a real positive community feel here with the longer term folks and I was told the monthly rate is around $400 plus electricity. My week stay here was $257 dollars tax and electricity included which was a great value considering the long and level pull through site. There is an office/clubhouse, two shower and bath houses with laundry, and a wealth of space to walk your dog including 2 off leash dog runs. The park is 22 miles to Tombstone, 60 miles to Tucson, 42 miles to Bisbee, and 10 miles to Kartchner Caverns. Mountain View is directly behind R.V. City Sales & Service which made refilling my propane tanks quick and easy. Strongly recommend Mountain View RV Park!
